House of the Dragon's Abubakar Salim plays Game of Thrones: Dragonfire mobile game before debut

A new ScreenRant video gives fans a quick glimpse of House of the Dragon’s rising star Abubakar Salim enjoying the freshly launched Game of Thrones: Dragonfire mobile game. The clip was posted just days before Salim appears on screen in the upcoming episode of the series. Seeing the actor engage with the game adds a playful layer to the franchise’s cross‑media push, and it’s already sparking conversation among viewers.

What happened

ScreenRant released an exclusive video showing Abubakar Salim, who portrays Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon, navigating the opening levels of Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. The mobile game, released this week, lets players command dragons and battle for the Iron Throne on iOS and Android devices. The clip was uploaded ahead of Salim’s first on‑screen appearance, which is scheduled for the series’ next episode. By featuring the actor before his debut, the promotion ties the new game directly to the show’s expanding universe.

Why it matters

Linking a high‑profile actor to a brand‑new game creates a two‑way promotional channel: the series drives traffic to Dragonfire, while the game keeps fans engaged between episodes. It also gives the audience a personal connection to the actor beyond the scripted narrative, potentially boosting viewership and in‑app revenue. Moreover, the timing builds anticipation for Salim’s debut, turning a routine episode release into a broader media event.

How to think about it

Treat the clip as a teaser rather than a full review of the game. If you’re a fan, consider trying Dragonfire to experience the world of Westeros interactively, but keep an eye on official episode release dates to avoid accidental spoilers. Use the game as a conversation starter with other viewers, linking gameplay moments to upcoming plot points.
